In 2010, I began extensive travels to various locales, primarily Kolkata, India, to help Rosalie Giffoniello author her book, Reclaiming Lives. While abroad, I saw numerous opportunities to practice my core belief of “peace through understanding.”
I told about the United States to people I met in other nations. And I crafted stories about people of nations and cultures outside the U.S. for my friends and associates back home.
Then, in 2012, I took an extensive “road trip” throughout the U.S., starting in my home in Michigan and the Great Lakes coast, then to the Atlantic Ocean coast, then to the Pacific Ocean coast, and finally back to the Great Lakes. These became the subjects of my first domestic blogs.
Since then, I’ve blogged about the Living Legacy Pilgrimage to thirteen significant locations associated with the United States Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s, traveling throughout the US from 2019 through 2022, and an aborted attempt to sail the entire Great Lakes.
I’ve written articles and created PowerPoint travelogues about many aspects of these adventures.
I have also developed these blogs–and more–into a series of 22 eBooks that I’ve titled Journey … People, Places, & Ponderings. Read about them on my web site and find/buy them on Amazon.
I will add to this growing repertoire of stories as I continue to travel both within the U.S. and internationally. The best way to keep track of my activities: subscribe to my listserve.
